SIBC toll attendants serving as tourism ambassadors

May 28, 2019

Employees of the Seaway International Bridge Corporation (SIBC) are helping to spread the good word about Cornwall one motorist at a time.

SIBC has once again partnered with Cornwall Tourism to hand out copies of the 2019 Cornwall Tourism Visitor Guide to motorists entering the city via the Seaway International Bridge on select days.

“We are thrilled to partner with Cornwall Tourism once again this year to help distribute visitor guides on weekends to visitors entering the City via our bridge,” said Jennifer MacIsaac, SIBC Community Relations Coordinator. “As the Seaway International Bridge is one of the main gateways to the city, it is a great match to have our Toll Attendants working as ambassadors to the city and sharing the publication.”

Thousands of motorists enter Cornwall each month via the Seaway International Bridge, which connects to two of Cornwall’s key arteries, Water Street and Brookdale Avenue.

“The visitor guide is one of our key marketing products and this initiative allows us to make a connection with potential visitors right as they are arriving in our great city,” said Kevin Lajoie, Tourism Officer with Cornwall Tourism. “We are grateful for this partnership with SIBC and for their commitment to helping to raise the profile of our city and region.”

The 2019 Visitor Guide includes information on upcoming festivals and events, accommodations, shopping, dining, outdoor adventure and much more. The bilingual publication is distributed at conferences and special events and through information racks in the city and across Ontario.
