World Champions and International Stars Headline the 2026 AMJ Shorty Jenkins Classic

Some of the biggest names in curling will return to Cornwall this September as the 2026 AMJ Shorty Jenkins Classic welcomes an impressive field of international and Canadian talent to the Cornwall Curling Centre from September 16 to 20.

Presented by title sponsor AMJ Campbell, the annual World Curling Tour event will feature 38 teams, including 20 men’s and 18 women’s teams, competing for a combined prize purse of more than $100,000. Fans can expect five days of elite competition featuring world champions, national champions, Olympic-calibre athletes, and rising stars from across Canada and around the globe.

With featured games broadcast live on Cogeco YourTV daily at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., the event continues to showcase Cornwall as one of Canada’s premier curling destinations.

Defending Women’s Champion Returns

Switzerland’s Xenia Schwaller enters the event as the defending AMJ Shorty Jenkins Classic champion and reigning 2026 World Women’s Champion. Widely considered one of the strongest teams in women’s curling, Schwaller’s rink will be looking to defend its Cornwall title against an exceptionally competitive field.

Among those chasing the championship is Canadian curling star Kerri Einarson. A five-time Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion, Einarson remains one of the most accomplished curlers in the country and will be looking to add a Shorty Jenkins title to her already impressive resume.

Fans can also look forward to watching Italy’s Giulia Zardini Lacedelli, Switzerland’s Alina Patz, and Canadian contenders Christina Black, Kayla Skrlik, and Kayla MacMillan as they battle through one of the strongest women’s fields the event has ever assembled.

New Faces and Familiar Champions on the Men’s Side

Defending men’s champion John Epping returns to Cornwall after capturing the 2025 Shorty Jenkins title. Now leading a new but experienced squad, Epping will once again be one of the teams to watch when play begins on September 16.

One of the most anticipated entries this year is Team Hardie, led by Scottish world champion Grant Hardie. A two-time World Men’s Champion and twelve-time Grand Slam winner, Hardie begins a new chapter this season as a skip. His newly formed team has already attracted attention across the curling world and is expected to be a major contender in Cornwall.

The men’s draw features a deep field of elite competitors, setting the stage for exciting matchups throughout the week as teams begin the 2026-27 season and chase valuable tour points.
