Cornwall Food Tours launches picnic tours

Imagine enjoying a picnic featuring an assortment of some of Cornwall’s best bites, all packaged and ready for you to pick up and enjoy.

It’s now possible thanks to the launch of a new picnic tour series by Cornwall Food Tours, a local business dedicated to showcasing Cornwall’s burgeoning food and drink scene.

The new initiative allows foodies to get a real taste of Cornwall’s culinary scene while also enjoying one of the city’s great public spaces. The baskets will be packed with everything that’s needed for a perfect picnic including a cooler bag, the delicious bites, plates, utensils, cutting board and knife for sharing, glasses and a bottle opener! In addition, $5 from every basket will be donated to Baldwin House, the local women’s shelter. Participants are asked to return the baskets and all of the picnic components within 24 hours of their schedule picnic.

“It will give people a great excuse to get outside and enjoy our amazing waterfront location and surrounding parks. People can expect everything they’ll need for a perfect picnic!,” said Vanessa Leduc, the entrepreneur behind Cornwall Food Tours.

The Picnic Tours

There are three different picnic options to enjoy and they can be purchased and booked in advance on the Cornwall Food Tours website. Please note a limited number of baskets are available for each tour date. The options include:

Brunch Picnic Food Tour

Available Saturdays starting July 10th!
Cost: $40 per person including taxes, food, picnic basket rental and donation to Maison Baldwin House

Basket for 2 people includes:
– Breakfast poutine from Brunch on Pitt
– Amazing homemade butter tarts from Tilly’s Eatery & Delicatessen
– Refreshingly different vegan smoothies from Simply Jennifer
– Caramel Crunch French Toast from Brunch on Pitt
– Fresh fruit

Basket for 4 people includes:
– All the same for basket for 2 with the addition of 2 sandwiches from Tilly’s and 2 gourmet iced teas from The Happy Popcorn and extra cookies/ treats from Simply Jennifer

Cultural Picnic Food Tour

Available Tuesdays starting July 13th!
Cost: $40 per person including taxes, food, picnic basket rental and donation to Maison Baldwin House

Basket for 2 includes:
– Butter chicken and naan from Shah’s Grill Restaurant
– Shumai dumplings from Edward’s Bistro
– Chicken schnitzel and spatzel from Schnitzels European Flavours
– Pad Thai from The Spicy Pearl
– Portuguese Tarts from Fairy Sweet

Basket for 4 people includes:
– Butter chicken and naan from Shah’s
– Shumai dumplings and filipino spring rolls from Edward’s Bistro
– 2 x chicken schnitzel and spatzel from Schnitzels European Flavours
– Pad Thai and Curry Chicken from Spicy Pearl
– 4 x Portuguese tarts from Fairy Sweet

Classic Picnic Food Tour

Available Thursdays starting July 15th!
Cost: $40 per person including taxes, food, picnic basket rental and donation to Maison Baldwin House

Basket for 2 includes:
– Pizza from ESCA PIZZA
– BBQ goodness from Edward’s bistro
– Burger from Truffles Burger Bar
– Popcorn from The Happy Popcorn Co.
– Desserts from Fairy Sweet

Basket for 4 people includes:
– All of the same goodies for the basket for 2 but doubled!
