Bacon Bonanza

Bacon Bonanza

If you’re a bacon lover, you won’t want to miss this.

The first-ever Bacon Bonanza will be held at Farm & Forest Food Experience in Legion Park on the Cornwall waterfront from Thursday, August 23rd to Sunday, August 26th. The four-day event will be a celebration of all things bacon, with special menu items being served up from the gourmet food truck to tantalize taste buds.

“It’s all about bacon,” said Chef Mark Currier of Farm & Forest. “I mean, who doesn’t love bacon? It’s going to be an ever changing menu for the event with some new items and old favourites.”

Be warned – it’s not just any bacon.

“We’re making our own bacon for this event,” Currier said of the process of getting raw pork bellies, curing them for a week and drying and smoking them for six hours. “We know where the bacon came from and exactly how it was made.”

The usual result is a savoury smile and a look of disbelief from the patron trying Farm & Forest bacon for the first time.

“It’s awesome to see the reaction,” added Currier.

Some of the menu items during Bacon Bonanza include a bacon and mushroom poutine, mozzarella and bacon-stuffed chicken wings and a bacon-inspired Caprese salad, among other items.

A portion of the proceeds of Bacon Bonanza will be donated to Hospice Cornwall, following a tradition on the part of Farm & Forest to give back to various community organizations.

About Farm & Forest Food Experience
