Cheese on Top Celebrates Cornwall Pizza

Cornwall, ON – Cornwall’s famous pizza is getting its moment in the spotlight with the premiere of Cheese On Top, a new four-part TV series that celebrates the city’s one-of-a-kind pizza style.

As creator Stacey Case explains, “The show celebrates Cornwall pizza, a regional pizza style, very thick with the cheese on top. The show is a punk rock oddball comedy that is gaining some positive press. We’ve been on CBC Radio and Exclaim! magazine telling the world about Cornwall Pizza.”

The premiere will take place on June 25 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the DEV Hotel & Conference Centre.

Cheese On Top was created by local entrepreneur and self-proclaimed Pizza Freak Stacey Case. The series mixes comedy, puppets, pranks, interviews and original music to highlight the thick, hearty, cheese on top pizza that Cornwall is known for. The show features appearances from well-loved local spots including North End, King George, Cornwall BBQ, and Philos, along with a soundtrack by Montreal musician Bloodshot Bill.

Visitors to the premiere can enjoy a screening of the first episode along with fresh Cornwall pizza. Cast and crew will be on hand for a panel discussion and behind the scenes stories. The event aims to bring the community together to celebrate a local food tradition that has gained attention across the province.

Cheese On Top was filmed in Cornwall with a local audio and video crew, capturing familiar faces and locations throughout the city. The series will be available on Bell Fibe TV1 the day after the premiere.

Tickets for the June 25 event are available now through Eventbrite. It is a fun opportunity to support local creators and enjoy a night dedicated to Cornwall’s signature slice.
