Community Gears Up for Canada vs. Qatar at OPG World Cup Watch Party

Cornwall, ON – Cornwall soccer fans will have a chance to come together in a big way this summer as Ontario Power Generation hosts an official 2026 Toronto World Cup Community Watch Party at the Saunders Hydro Dam Visitor Centre.

As an Official Toronto Host City Supporter, OPG is turning the centre into a lively gathering place where families, friends, and neighbours can cheer on Team Canada in a fun, welcoming environment.

The free event, taking place Thursday, June 18, will feature a big‑screen broadcast of the Canada vs. Qatar match, along with games and activities for all ages, music, giveaways, and light refreshments. Food vendors will also be on site for those looking to grab a bite during the action.

Although admission is free, space is limited and registration is required, making early sign‑ups essential for anyone hoping to join the excitement.

Doors open at 5:00 PM, giving attendees time to enjoy the activities before the 6:00 PM kickoff. Guests will also have the chance to win official Host City Supporter prizes throughout the evening.

The event is alcohol‑free, and attendees should be aware that photos and video may be captured for OPG channels.

The watch party will be held at the Saunders Hydro Dam Visitor Centre, located at 2500B Second Street West, Cornwall. With community spirit, family‑friendly fun, and national pride all in one place, the event promises to be one of Cornwall’s standout gatherings leading into the 2026 World Cup.
