About Cornwall Canada Day
The Cornwall Canada Day celebration is held on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee peoples, the Mohawks of Akwesasne, the original keepers of this land. We hope that on this day of celebration, we are able to reflect on both the struggles incited by Cornwall’s colonial history in the past but also our present compliancy in current indigenous struggles. We also look to recognize and celebrate the great accomplishments of our indigenous communities and we strive to make our celebration both inclusive and respectful to all.
Cornwall’s Canada Day celebration attracts thousands to Lamoureux Park each year. The event is planned by community volunteers that work tirelessly to create a fantastic schedule of events while keeping the event free and fun for families.
