Day of the Girl

International Day of the Girl celebration is back for 2025! Saturday, October 18th, 2025  1-4PM at La Citadelle! This FREE event is open to girls 8-17!

This year, a fan favourite is coming back – the Female First Responders and their equipment and vehicles! A hands-on learning opportunity to speak with the responders about their jobs and experiences!

There are 3 other great activities during the afternoon:

• The Canadian Armed Forces will have a VR activity that allows youth to use technology to see what members of the Forces do! This will be lead by Captain Amy.

• A female led self defense class will teach some basic techniques to keep our youth empowered

• A female mechanic will demonstrate how to change a tire and how to do an oil change, as well as provide other car maintenance and safety tips and tricks

There will be 2 fantastic guest speakers, Cornwall City Councillors; Carilyne Hebert and Elaine MacDonald! 

Refreshments will be available.

Parents are invited to stay and learn about local community services, agencies, and supports!
