Horse Lovers’ Weekend
Saturday, August 30th – Monday, September 1st
Upper Canada Village
Upper Canada Village is excited to welcome back its annual Horse Lovers’ Weekend. The event celebrates our special relationship with the noble Canadian Horse, first introduced to Canada in the 1600s (New France at the time). This well-attended three-day festival showcases riding, driving, and working horses with the help of our Village Interpreters and a variety of community partners.
The event starts at 9:30am and ends at 5:00pm each day of the weekend.
Event Highlights
- Equine Therapy by Ashfield Farm
- Ojibwe Spirit Horse Talk by Madahoki Aboriginal Experiences
- Six-Horse Hitch Demonstration by Ken Reid
- Shire Horses with Brian McIntosh
- Capital Cowgirls Drill Team
- Wagon rides by Ken Reid
- Plus more special guests and demonstrations to be announced!
