Six fun events to celebrate Halloween
October 9, 2019Fall is here and so is Halloween – the spookiest time of the year!
For those in search of a spooky experience, there’s no better time to visit Cornwall and SDG Counties.
From a massive outdoor pumpkin exhibit to a creepy paranormal show to Canada’s largest indoor haunted house, there’s a whole lot of Halloween fun on tap this season in the area.
There are family-friendly options as well as creepier experiences for the brave souls in search of a real scare.

Pumpkinferno
This magical Halloween event is back at Upper Canada Village for another season of family fun. Enjoy a walk through an amazing display of 7,000 handcrafted pumpkins aglow and set amongst the picturesque 19th-century backdrop of the village. Stop in at Clown Town and discover some new games and instagrammable pumpkin-themed stations that will be sure to please children of all ages! And don’t forget to stop by the Village Store for some hot chocolate and Halloween-themed treats!

Ghost Walk
It’s considered Canada’s largest indoor haunted house – and it’s in Cornwall.
The Ghost Walk for Charity returns this October with the promise of striking fear in the minds of anyone brave enough to enter. This spooky Halloween season event features a 25,000 square foot indoor space completely decked out with haunting decorations and live actors ready to terrify walkers at every twist and turn.
The Ghost Walk will be open on October 17, 18, 19, 23, 24 and 25 with non-scare, child-friendly hours from 5 pm to 6 pm and the full scare hours running from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Halloween ComicFest
Grab your favourite costume or superhero outfit and head to the Halloween ComicFest on Saturday, October 26th at the Cornwall Civic Complex!
This community event will feature treats, cosplay, prizes, special guests, exhibitors and fun for the whole family. Kids and adults can dress up and attend a market-style event with exhibitors selling geeky merchandise and trick-or-treating for the kids.
Admission is only $3 and children 12 and under are free with a paying adult!

The Paranormal Show
The Paranormal Show is a spectacular assortment of Supernatural feats that will make you question everything you thought you understood about reality. Created by Scott McClelland, the man behind Canada’s premiere sideshow ‘Carnival Diablo,’ The Paranormal Show takes the strange and bizarre to new heights.
The show is being held at one of Cornwall’s most beloved – and haunted – landmarks, The Port Theatre, on Friday, October 18th and tickets are now on sale!

Acres of Terror
Eastern Ontario’s most terrifying Halloween attraction is back for its 27th year. Head to Cannamore Orchard and enjoy four different experiences – The Spooky Wagon Ride, House of Terror, Spooky Village and the Fog Maze.
Acres of Terror offers both family-friendly times as well as full scare visits for the braver souls.

When Worlds Collide
Get into the Halloween state of mind with a spine-tingling evening at the Glengarry Pioneer Museum! Participate in Bytown Paranormal investigations and a seance and check out creepy artifacts from the museum’s collection. Share ghost tales around a bonfire and enjoy a Halloween bake sale.
The event takes place Saturday, October 26th and tickets are available by calling 613-527-5230. There are three start times – 5:30 pm, 7 pm and 8:30 pm.
