GO-BOY! Documentary, Q&A, and Jail Tour Coming to Historic SDG Jail

Cornwall, ON – All are invited to step inside a powerful true story of crime, survival, and redemption as GO-BOY! Memories of a Life Behind Bars comes to the Historic SDG Courthouse and Jail on June 19, 2026.

This feature documentary explores the physical and psychological impact of the prison system through the life of Roger Caron, a notorious jailbreaking bank robber who became an award-winning author. Caron spent twenty-four years in prison and escaped thirteen times, more than anyone else in Canadian history. His journey both began and ended in Cornwall, with portions of the film shot on location at the Historic SDG Jail.

A unique evening of film, conversation, and history

Attendees will experience a multi-part event:

Documentary screening of GO-BOY! Memories of a Life Behind Bars in the Historic SDG Courthouse
Q&A session with Producer Rob Lindsay following the film
Self-guided tour of the Historic SDG Jail, including areas connected to Caron’s story

This event offers a rare opportunity to reflect on the realities of incarceration while standing inside one of the region’s most significant historic institutions.

Admission: $30 – Admit One (Regular Seating)

The film venue is accessible by elevator. An accessible video tour of the Jail is also available but must be requested in advance by contacting branger@sdgcounties.ca or calling the Jail at 613-935-4891.
