Cornwall Tourism is pleased to announce the appointment of Hassan Rafiei as Tourism Development Officer. In this role, Rafiei will be assisting with Cornwall Tourism’s destination marketing efforts, supporting the office’s visitor services programs and spearheading other tourism-related projects and initiatives.

A native of Cornwall, Rafiei joins the City of Cornwall following a successful career in the private sector as owner and operator of Schnitzels European Flavours in Downtown Cornwall and a co-founder of Sheep’s Head Bistro in Glen Walter. Rafiei is a graduate of l’Héritage Public Secondary School and Collège La Cité in Ottawa, where he studied Tourism and Hospitality (Hotel & Restaurant Management).

“I am super excited to join Cornwall Tourism and the City of Cornwall Economic Development Department,” said Rafiei. “With 20 years of experience in the food and beverage industry and 10 years as a small business owner, I am ready to bring my experience to the table. I am proud to be from this wonderful city and I am ready to showcase all the great things that the City of Cornwall has to offer.”

Rafiei will be assisting Cornwall Tourism with a number of other important activities throughout the year, including representing Cornwall at in-person consumer trade shows, supporting local festivals and events and identifying and supporting new tourism and investment opportunities.

“We’re extremely excited to have Hassan join our team,” said Kevin Lajoie, Tourism Officer. “His passion and knowledge of Cornwall together with his direct experience in the local tourism sector will be great assets as we continue to build our tourism effort in Cornwall.”
