Help Bring the Scotties to Cornwall
October 21, 2024Cornwall Ontario – Cornwall is looking to bolster its bid to host the 2026 Scotties with a campaign to secure pre-tournament deposits.
The Scotties Tournament of Hearts is the pinnacle event where the top women’s curling teams from across Canada compete for the national championship and the honour of wearing the Maple Leaf at the World Women’s Curling Championship. Established in 1961, this prestigious event has showcased some of the sport’s biggest stars, including Kerri Einarson, Jennifer Jones, and Rachel Homan.
Cornwall has submitted a bid to host the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts. If successful, the tournament will take place at the Cornwall Civic Complex from January 23 to February 1, 2026. The event will feature a round-robin format with the top teams advancing to the playoffs, culminating in the crowning of the national champion, who will return the following year as “Team Canada.”

Cornwall’s bid to host the 2026 Scotties is supported by the Cornwall Curling Club, which hosts the Shorty Jenkins Classic Bonspiel every September.
