Capture the magic. Film in Cornwall.
Cornwall, Ontario, while not a major film production hub like Toronto or Vancouver, has a developing presence in the film industry, often serving as a picturesque and accessible location for various productions. The city and surrounding SDG Counties offer diverse backdrops, from historic downtown streets and waterfront views along the St. Lawrence River to rural landscapes and unique cultural sites.
Local production companies like KAV Productions provide comprehensive video, photography, and audio services, indicating a growing infrastructure for film projects. Cornwall has also seen interest from larger productions, notably a Netflix movie (reportedly a Christmas romantic comedy called “Single All The Way“) that filmed scenes in the city’s downtown area. This highlights Cornwall’s potential as a film-friendly location, with its distinct character and proximity to major urban centers like Montreal.
Cornwall, along with SDG Counties (Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry), recently gained national exposure as a featured location on The Amazing Race Canada. In Season 10, which aired in late 2024, the remaining teams visited the region, undertaking challenges in various familiar locales.
