It pays to shop Cornwall

Shopping at locally owned Cornwall retailers is a great way to support small business owners and to find those unique specialty items that might be on your list. There is a vibrant collection of retailers in the city’s downtown areas as well as along Brookdale Avenue, Second Street and scattered throughout the many areas of the City.

Robert Martin, owner of Flowers Cornwall, on Pitt street north, wanted to give shoppers another reason to shop Cornwall. The holiday season was a great opportunity for him to spread a little love to his peers by supporting other local businesses through a fun gift certificate giveaway.

“We decided to help promote the shop local movement by giving away a 50$ gift certificate every Friday from now up until Christmas,” shares Martin. “We posted on our Facebook page giving people a chance to vote on their favorite small business to support, we then chose at random a few of the suggestions to purchase the gift certificates from.”

Starting November 20, and every Friday following until Christmas, Flowers Cornwall will be giving away a $50 gift certificate to a local favourite such as Truffles Burger Bar, The Squire Shop, The Happy Popcorn Co, and Kid’s Korner just to name a few.  To enter the draw, all you have to do is stop by Flowers Cornwall and fill in your ballot.

There is a new draw each week so be sure to visit Robert and his staff often to participate in as many draws as possible. Ballots will be collected from Saturday to Thursday with draws taking place on Fridays. While you’re completing your ballot be sure to check out the beautiful collection of holiday décor and gifts, gourmet food items, giant stuffed animals, funky socks and of course floral arrangements of all sizes.

Martin’s commitment to his community is to be admired and celebrated. “We really are all in this together, and when one of us succeeds we all succeed,” shares Martin, on why he chose to do such a giveaway.

Be like Robert and shop Cornwall, support small businesses and discover all that Cornwall retailers have to offer.
