Local Tourism Initiatives Supported by the Tourism Development Fund

Cornwall Tourism Development Fund (TDF)

Cornwall, ON – Dozens of local events and businesses will have a greater impact to the tourism economy thanks to a new round of funding from the Tourism Development Corporation of Cornwall.

A total of $167,320 has been invested in the community from the Tourism Development Fund, through the TDF 2025 application process. The grants are assisting businesses and event organizers to increase their marketing outside the City as well as improve the overall tourist experience. The net result is increased tourism activity leading to a greater positive impact on the local economy, with the potential of generating more repeat visitors.

“The Board is very pleased to be able to support so many innovative applications through the TDF,” says Dale Allen, Chair of the Tourism Development Corporation of Cornwall, which administers the TDF. “We look forward to the many positive impacts these initiatives will have on our community and the local tourism industry as a whole.”

To date, TDCC has received 28 requests for funding in 2025 and has been able to fund 24 of those applications. The TDCC is currently accepting applications until August 29th for projects happening between October 1st and December 31st 2025.

The 2025 awarded funds were allocated as follows:

  • Cornwall Culture Fest – $,2815
  • Diversity Cornwall Ten Year Anniversary Pride Festival – $9,375
  • OMSPA Summer Tour – $5,950
  • Lost and Sound Festival – $4,595
  • 2025 Apples & Art Studio Tour – $3,985
  • 2025 Cornwall Waterfest – $2,815
  • Cornwall Triathlon, Duathlon & 5K – $5,210
  • Cornwall Ribfest – $8,125
  • BaitFuel Fishing Tour, 2025 – $10,625
  • Harmony Concerts at Stonecrop Acres – $6,300
  • Savour the Field 2025 – $6,500

About the Tourism Development Fund

The Tourism Development Fund (TDF) was established in 2019 and is generated from the proceeds of the Municipal Accommodation Tax. It is administered by the Tourism Development Corporation of Cornwall (TDCC), a not-for-profit corporation. Over the past 6 years, the TDF has distributed over $1 million to area businesses and organizations, and in the process has helped the tourism sector grow locally.

Eligibility for funding is outlined at www.CornwallTDF.ca , and all applications are made online. Applicants are required to submit their application at least three months in advance of their project date.
