Maxville hosting K9 Sport Fest
July 12, 2018Maxville will be the canine capital of eastern Ontario this weekend as the K9 Sport Fest takes over the Maxville Fairgrounds.
The two-day event kicks off on Saturday, July 14th and attracts a variety of dog breeds to compete in a variety of different events.
“We have around 500 competitors that come to compete from all over the country, as well as some Americans,” said Dan Santoro, co-founder of the K9 Sport Fest. “We have dogs that jump over 30 feet in the dock competition and agility dogs that can run a course in 19 seconds. It’s a pretty impressive sight.”
In addition to the competitions, there are dozens of vendors on site along with a café bar. It makes for a fun day for competitors and non-competitors alike.
“It’s a great day out with the family that won’t break the bank,” Mr. Santoro added.
The gates open at 9 am on both Saturday and Sunday and admission is $7 (kids 10 and under are free).
