New Intake Process Launched for the Tourism Development Fund
Cornwall, Ontario – Event organizers and tourism operators in Cornwall have a new process to follow when applying for grants from the Tourism Development Fund.
The Tourism Development Corporation of Cornwall (TDCC) will now be intaking applications on a quarterly basis.
“The Tourism Development Fund continues to grow in awareness with the local community as 2024 was oversubscribed,” says Dale Allen, Chair of the TDCC. “The fund continues to evolve as demand increases. The new system will allow for a simpler and fairer intake and review process. “
The 4 intake periods are as follows:
Intake 1: January 1st to March 31, 2025
For projects with an execution date that occurs before June 30th
Intake 2: April1st to June 30, 2025
For projects with an execution date that falls between July 1st and September 30th
Intake 3: July 1st to September 30, 2025
For projects with an execution date that falls between October 1st and December 31st
Intake 4: October 1st to December 31, 2025
For projects with an execution date that falls between January 1st and March 30th, 2026
For an event/project to be eligible for funding, an application must be submitted in advance. To ensure the TDCC has sufficient time to review the application, applicants should apply at least 75 days before the project execution date.
“The new systems shorten the lead time for applications to be submitted and also ensures that events that happen later in the year have equal access to funds,” says Mr. Allen.
Eligibility for funding is outlined at CornwallTourism.com/tdf, and all applications are made online.
In 2024, 25 applications were supported with $183, 375 from the Tourism Development Fund.
