Poutine Love returns: Cornwall’s cheesiest celebration is back

Get ready to loosen your belts, Cornwall, because Poutine Love is back! This 10-day feast, running from Wednesday, August 21st to Friday, August 30th, is set to showcase the city’s most creative and mouth-watering poutine creations.
Ten local restaurants – Shoeless Joes Sports Grill, Seguin Patate, Billy K’s, Chef In A Bun, Daily Chuck, Captain George’s Fish & Chips, Carrots N’ Dates, King George Restaurant, Perch & Paddle Pub and The Loose Caboose – are gearing up to battle it out for the coveted “People’s Choice” and “Judge’s Choice” awards, putting their unique twists on this classic Canadian comfort food. From traditional combinations to unexpected flavour explosions, there’s sure to be a poutine to tempt every palate.
The community is encouraged to embark on a poutine pilgrimage, sampling as many creations as possible and casting their votes for their favourite. Our esteemed panel of judges will also be making the rounds, meticulously evaluating each poutine based on creativity, presentation, taste/flavour, and overall satisfaction.
“Events like Poutine Love aren’t just about delicious food; they’re about bringing our community together to celebrate the flavours we all know and love. It’s a chance to showcase the incredible talent of our local restaurants and create lasting memories for everyone involved,” said Pat Larose of Taste Buds, the local foodie group that organizes the event.
This year’s Poutine Love event is proudly partnered with Cornwall Tourism, further solidifying its status as a must-attend culinary experience for both locals and visitors alike.
So, mark your calendars and prepare for a cheesy, gravy-laden adventure! It’s time to show your love for poutine and support our local restaurants. May the best poutine win!
