Runners Take to the River: St. Lawrence Marathon Returns April 25

Cornwall, ON – The popular St. Lawrence Marathon returns on Saturday, April 25, and once again the event is fully sold out, highlighting its continued appeal among runners from across the region and beyond.

A certified Boston Marathon qualifier, the race follows the scenic St. Lawrence River from Crysler Park Marina near Morrisburg to St. Lawrence College in Cornwall. The Cornwall campus serves as the finish line, where spectators gather to cheer participants as they complete the course.

Race Distances

In addition to the full marathon (42.2 km), the event offers several additional race options, including:

  • Half-marathon (21.1 km)
  • 10 km
  • 5 km

The shorter distances take place along the picturesque Cornwall Riverside Trail, which forms part of the Waterfront Trail, offering runners beautiful river views and a flat, fast course.

A Favourite Among Runners

The marathon’s flat, scenic route combined with the welcoming small-town charm of Cornwall and SDG Counties has helped establish the event as a favourite among both experienced and first-time runners.

Event Schedule

  • 5:45 AM – Buses leave St. Lawrence College for Marathon Start Line
  • 7:00 AM – Marathon Start (Crysler Marina)
  • 9:00 AM – Half Marathon Start (St. Lawrence College)
  • 10:00 AM – 10km Start (St. Lawrence College)
  • 10:30 AM – 5km Start (St. Lawrence College)
  • 11:30 AM – Awards Ceremony (St. Lawrence College)
  • 1:00 PM – Finish Line Closes
