Seniors on Wheels rolling for another season

The popular Seniors on Wheels program is back for another season.
An initiative of the City of Cornwall’s Senior-Friendly Community Committee, Seniors on Wheels provides free rides to seniors on electric trishaws through Lamoureux Park. The program is based out of the Cornwall Tourism Visitor Information Centre in front of the Cornwall Civic Complex.
The program will run Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm. Please note rides will not be offered on days with inclement weather (rain, extreme heat) or when Lamoureux Park is hosting major events.
The trishaws are operated by trained volunteers or members of the Cornwall Tourism team. There is seating for two passengers and the rides are approximately 30 minutes long.

To book a ride in advance, residents can call or text 613-938-4748 or send an email to seniorsonwheels@cornwall.ca.
Residents can also stop by the Cornwall Tourism Visitor Centre (the blue container in front of the Cornwall Civic Complex) from Monday to Saturday between the hours of 10 am to 3 pm to request a ride on the spot (subject to availability).
Additional information
The Senior-Friendly Community Committee spearheaded the Seniors on Wheels program as part of their initiative to reduce social isolation as well as physical and financial barriers that prevent seniors from fully engaging in community activities.
The program was made possible with the support of a New Horizons Grant and the Sunrise Rotary Club supported the project with a $3,000 donation.
