St. Lawrence Marathon returns on April 26th

The popular St. Lawrence Marathon is set to return on Saturday, April 26th – and spaces are filled!
The event – a certified qualifier for the Boston Marathon – follows the beautiful St. Lawrence River from Crysler Park Marina near Morrisburg to St. Lawrence College in Cornwall, where friends and family gather to cheer on participants as they cross the finish line.
In addition to the marathon (42.2 km), the event also offers half-marathon (21.1 km), 10 km and 5 km distances along the popular scenic Cornwall Riverside Trail which is part of the Waterfront Trail.
The flat, scenic route together with the small-town charm of Cornwall and SDG Counties has made the St. Lawrence Marathon a favourite for runners from near and far.
“The runners love it because it’s a small event with a magnificent course,” said marathon director Sebastian Warner. “They want a fast, flat course (and we offer that).”
To encourage more participation among all age groups, the marathon offered a 40 per cent discount for those aged 18 and under and 70 – 79 while those aged 80-plus can run for free.
“We want to encourage all age groups to participate in the event,” Warner added.
