SUMMER FUN GUIDE: Can’t miss events to enjoy in Cornwall
June 25, 2024This summer, come explore all Cornwall has to offer! Throughout July, August and September, there are a slate of events for the whole family to enjoy.
From food events and sporting competitions to concerts and art tours, Cornwall’s event calendar features a little bit of everything. Read on below for our list of can’t-miss festivals and events and get ready to have some fun!

THE LIST
Monday, July 1st
Lamoureux Park
Additional Information
This annual event is the perfect way to kick off your summer! Located in Lamoureux Park, the festivities are fit for the whole family.
Celebrate with us alongside a day filled with live music, a Kids Zone, and a wide assortment of food trucks and local vendors.
Don’t miss Canada’s own Kim Mitchell, a multi-platinum, Juno Award winning Rock legend, who takes the bandshell stage at 8:45 pm. To close off the night, a beautiful display of fireworks will be set off at 10 pm.
Thursday, July 11th
Downtown Cornwall
Additional Information
On July 11th, come take part in this day full of shopping, activities, and music!
Located in Cornwall’s Downtown area, Stroll the Streets is a vibrant shopping experience, with over 50 vendors and downtown businesses ready to welcome you.
Running from 4 pm to 9 pm, businesses will have extended hours as well as special offers and discounts!
Friday, July 12th – Sunday, July 13th
Lamoureux Park

From Friday, July 12th to Sunday, July 14th, be sure not to miss out on Cornwall’s very own Afro Diversity festival!
Come to Lamoureux Park to take part in the amazing celebrations, filled with delicious gastronomy, beautiful fashion, live music and dance, a stunning art exhibition, family zone, and more!
Saturday, July 20th

Diversity Cornwall is proud to host its annual Pride Parade and Festival on Saturday, July 20th from 11 am to 5 pm.
Come show your pride with our LGBTQ2S+ community in Lamoureux Park. This amazing festival features a colourful parade through Downtown Cornwall followed by a full afternoon of fun in Lamoureux Park with live music, vendor booths, a BBQ, beer tent, Kids Zone, and much more!
The festival and parade are free to attend.
Thursday, July 25- Sunday, July 28

Live concerts, carnival rides, children’s activities and of course… ribs. Cornwall Ribfest is back in a big way!
The four-day event draws thousands to Lamoureux Park each summer for a perfect mix of sunshine and old-fashioned ‘summer fair’ vibes. Enjoy a great line up of entertainment and some old-fashioned carnival rides to go along with mouth-watering ribs and other food options. This year’s entertainment features a Journey Tribute on Thursday night, the beloved Barstool Prophets on Friday night and Crash Test Dummies on Saturday night!

This delicious event features a wide variety of vendors selling the popular Canadian dish in Lamoureux Park from Thursday, August 1st to Sunday, August 4th. Don’t forget to bring your appetite!

Historic Cornwall Canal

Hosted along the historic Cornwall Canal, Cornwall Waterfest is perfect for the entire family. Held on Saturday, August 10th, this event is a perfect way to cool off while enjoy some great time along the waterfront!
Take part in a day of fun, filled with dragon boat races, DJ entertainment, and a vendor market!

Downtown Cornwall

The Cornwall Night Market is open to all!
This outdoor shopping experience is located in Downtown Cornwall and features over 50 vendors and a live DJ. Business will be open late, with patios open for dinner and drinks. Come support local businesses and artisans!
Saturday, August 17th – Sunday, August 18th
Benson Centre

Rock out at the Benson Centre! On Saturday, August 17th and Sunday, August18th, this live music event is open to all ages and features a large lineup of live music acts.
The lineup features many local bands, as well as groups from as far as Ottawa and Montreal.

Cornwall and SDG Counties
Additional Information
Take part in Doors Open Cornwall SDG Counties! Visit a variety of unique heritage and historical sites that are open for all the public to see.
This annual event is part of the provincewide Doors Open program, with the goal of helping the public discover unique cultural and historical sites across Ontario.
Saturday, August 24th – Sunday, August 25th
St.Lawrence College

Grab your running shoes to take part in the Cornwall Triathlon!
Children’s events are hosted on Saturday, August 24th, and feature traffic free courses in the city core, as well as a Duathlon of varying distances and a Triathlon with a pool swim.
Adult events are held on Sunday, August 25th, and include a 5km run, Try-A-Tri, Sprint and Olympic Triathlon distances and a Sprint Duathlon. All are welcome to participate or spectate!

Lamoureux Park

Hosted in Lamoureux Park for the first time, the Akwesasne Pow Wow features two days of great music, food, dancing, and friends!
The best Native dancers, drummers, and artisans from the region come together to give you a day filled with fun, peace, and friendship. Don’t miss this amazing event!
Saturday, September 14th

Join us in Lamoureux Park for the second annual Culture Fest on Saturday, September 14th from 10 am to 6 pm.
This event aims to celebrate the diversity of Cornwall, SDG Counties, and Akwesasne with a day filled with live performances, food, vendors, and much more. This free event showcases traditional song and dance from dozens of cultures.
Wednesday, September 11th – Sunday, September 15th
Cornwall Curling Centre
Additional Information
Check out the annual Shorty Jenkins Classic, a curling tournament that brings world-class curlers to the Cornwall Curling Centre.
This curling classic is one of the longest running professional curling events in Canada and features one of the highest combined purses. This tournament runs from Tuesday, September 17th to Saturday, September 21st and it’s a great celebration of one of Canada’s most beloved sports!

Lamoureux Park

On Saturday, September 21st , visit Lamoureux Park to take part in the Eastern Ontario Garlic Festival. Come spend the day exploring garlic vendors while enjoying live entertainment, and more!
Food and drink will be offered by local vendors and farmers ready for you to enjoy.

As one of Ontario’s most bilingual cities, Cornwall has a strong Franco-Ontarian presence.
On Wednesday, September 25th, that will be cause for a big celebration in Lamoureux Park! There will be activities, live music, and more to see and do.
Saturday, September 28th – Sunday, September 29th
Cornwall & SDG Counties

On Saturday, September 28th and Sunday, September 29th, take part in the Apples & Art Studio Tour, a stunning art tour that takes you all over Cornwall and SDG Counties!
This experience is a chance to meet artists, to chat, and to see their work in a natural setting. Appreciate art from a variety of mediums such as paint, ink, clay, fine stones, wood, and glass.
Monday, September 30th
Lamoureux Park
Cornwall’s Lamoureux Park will once again play host to an event to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in partnership with the community of Akwesasne.
Held on September 30th each year, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation honours the children who never returned home and survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.
