Cornwall Santa Claus Parade returns on Saturday, Nov. 20
November 7, 2021Santa Claus is coming to town!
Jolly Saint Nick will arrive in Cornwall in his sleigh on Saturday, November 20th for the 50th annual Cornwall Santa Claus Parade, an event that has served as a kick-off to the local holiday season for generations.
The parade will start at St. Lawrence Secondary School and proceed west on Second Street to Augustus Street. It will start at 5 pm with the Cornwall Fire Service leading the parade at 4:45 pm to collect toys for Sparky’s Toy Drive.
“We are hoping to have at least 25 entries. We have been receiving entries every day so it is very encouraging,” said parade organizer Terry Muir of the Optimist Club of Cornwall.
Last year’s parade was transformed into a drive-thru event due to the pandemic, so there is a lot of excitement to see the return of the traditional parade this holiday. Residents attending the parade are asked to be mindful of physical distancing and leave space among others along the parade route.
“It feels surreal to plan a regular parade and I am very hopeful that people will respect other people’s space and spread out along the route,” Muir added.
Register a float!
There is no charge for businesses or organizations to enter a float in the Cornwall Santa Claus Parade.
