Cornwall Tourism launches pop-up, mobile visitor info services
July 7, 2021Cornwall Tourism is ready to roll – literally – on another busy summer of welcoming visitors to the community.
The tourism office has established a pop-up visitor information centre at the entrance to Lamoureux Park and the Cornwall Civic Complex (at 100 Water Street East) and it is now open seven days a week, from 9 am to 5 pm daily. In cases of inclement weather, visitor services will be provided from the main entrance of the Civic Complex just steps away.
Visitors can also text 613-938-4748 any time with tourism-related questions and staff will respond promptly.
“We expect it to be a busy summer season as pandemic restrictions continue to ease and people search for fun experiences and activities to enjoy,” said Kevin Lajoie, Tourism Officer with the City of Cornwall. “With our amazing cycling and outdoor activities, great food and drink and safe accommodations, Cornwall is a great option for those seeking a fun day trip or overnight getaway.”
In addition to staffing the pop-up visitor information centre, Cornwall Tourism ambassadors Ryan Lafleche and Emily Legault will also be roaming on bicycle to greet tourists and provide assistance along the Riverside Trail, the Downtown area and other key locations and points of interest.
“We introduced the mobile service last summer and it was well received,” Lajoie added. “It provides another opportunity for us to connect with visitors in a safe manner.”
The pop-up visitor information centre is stocked with helpful resources including the Explore Cornwall Summer Visitor Guide, Cornwall Living magazine, the Discover SDG Visitor Guide, cycling maps, street maps and much more.
“These resources highlight great local stories as well as fun things to see and do while in the area,” said Lajoie. “We encourage local residents to stop by and pick up some copies and share them with relatives or friends who might be considering a visit to Cornwall.”
