Tickets now on sale for World Junior A ChallengeJune 6, 2022
The 2022 World Junior A Challenge is coming to Cornwall this December and early bird tickets are now on sale.
The World Junior A Challenge features some of the best Junior A level hockey players in the world. Hosted in partnership with Hockey Canada, the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) and Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO), the 2022 WJAC will see two Canadian teams – East and West – joined by three international entries to compete for gold.
The tournament takes place December 11th to 18th at the Cornwall Civic Complex.
Cornwall was originally selected to host the tournament in 2020 however the pandemic forced the cancellation of the event for two straight years. That has only served to create more anticipation for the drop of the puck this December.
For hockey fans, it will be a chance to see some amazing hockey and enjoy the forever hockey rivalries of Canada-Russia and Canada-USA at an affordable price.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to be able to see this level of hockey right in our own backyard,” said Lorne Taillon, Supervisor, Recreation & Programming with the City of Cornwall. “It’s going to be a great celebration of hockey and we want the entire community to be a part of it.”
Early bird ticket packages now on sale
Early bird ticket packages are now available for purchase at the all-in price of $149.50 which includes 1 game ticket to each of the 14 tournament games. It’s a substantial savings over the game day prices (on sale at a later date) and it makes a perfect Father’s Day gift for the hockey dad on your list!
Fans who purchase the package at the early bird price will have their seats reserved through an account membership (PerfectMind). These memberships will later be transferred into a personal ticket account (TicketPro) from which game tickets will be managed and distributed.
Pay $49.50 when you purchase the package and the balance before 7 am on October 11th to be entered into a draw to win one additional full-event pass!
Sponsorship opportunities are available for local businesses who wish to be part of the event. A variety of options are available for businesses looking to raise their profile.

About the World Junior A Challenge
The World Junior A Challenge was created in 2006 to showcase the talent in the Canadian Junior Hockey League.
The tournament has quickly become a highlight for NHL scouts – and for good reason. The WJAC alone has produced more than 230 NHL draft picks, including 36 first-rounders – think names like Vasilevski, Makar, Jost, Lindholm, Pastrnak, Schwartz, Tarasenko, Turris, and Yakupov.
The 2022 event in Cornwall will be just the second time that an Ontario community hosts the event.
